Reciprocating Screw Machine Molds
Heise designs and manufactures a variety of molds for Reciprocating Screw Machines. These machines are primarily used for containers that range from 8 ounces to 5 gallons for the Dairy, Food, Automotive and Household Chemical markets. Some of the machines we build molds for:
- Impco
- Rocheleau Machine
- Uniloy
- Hycon
- Hayssen
How it Works: Resin material is intermittently accumulated in the extruder barrel at the front end of the extruder screw. By reciprocation of the screw, the material is forced from the barrel in the form of a parison. Similar to an Accumulator Machine, the molds always remain in the parison extrusion position. Reciprocating Screw machines can be equipped to extrude 1 to 16 parisons simultaneously. The most popular product application has been thin wall and light weight milk bottles. A notable limitation of this machine platform is that it can only extrude one layer in the parison. With other machine platforms, there is the capability to extrude multiple layers of resin in the parison to create multiple barriers in a container.
